〜とあれば
「友人の頼み」 leads so とあれば can make it the compelling condition: 'since a friend is asking, I cannot refuse'.
Tested at JLPT N1 — 10 practice questions below.
Practice 〜とあれば →〜とあれば attaches to a noun or clause naming a strong motivation or special circumstance and licenses the striking action in the main clause: 'if it's to learn the truth — going as far as distant places is worth it.' It is the conditional counterpart of とあって: here the resolve is prospective ('will even go'), not a reported reaction. The other options need a concession target, a standard-noun, or a series — none is present.
