After 「専門家」 the sentence needs 「の間で」 to complete 「専門家の間でのみならず」 ("not only among experts"), which then pairs with 「一般の読者にも」 ("but also with general readers").

Practice 〜のみならず →〜のみならず〜にも needs two parallel parts: 専門家の間で + のみならず + 一般の読者にも. 「の間で」 must follow 専門家 first so that のみならず has a complete noun phrase to attach to; inserting のみならず earlier leaves の間で with nothing to modify.
