Practice 〜のに →"Vた＋のに" joins a clause to a result that contradicts the expectation it set up, carrying disappointment or complaint. Practicing many times sets up success, so the failure to speak well is exactly the reversal のに expresses. ので would make the failure sound natural, なら reduces it to a conditional, and まで marks an endpoint — none captures "even though."
