Practice 〜しか〜ない →〜しか〜ない ('only ~, nothing more') attaches しか to a noun or amount and requires a negative verb: 財布に千円しか入っていません — 'There's only 1,000 yen in my wallet.' 千円 quantifies, しか restricts it, and 入って→いません complete 'isn't inside'. 入って at ★ splits the 入っていません compound and strands inanimate yen with animate いません; いません at ★ removes the mandatory negative ending; しか at ★ limits 財布に instead of 千円.
