Practice 〜を →を marks the direct object — the noun that receives the action of a transitive verb. Here パン is what gets eaten, so it takes を. 「が」 would flip パン into the subject, 「に」 wrongly treats bread as a destination or time, and 「で」 would mean the bread is the place or means of eating — none of which fits this sentence.
