〜わけがない
「わけがない」expresses the speaker's firm conviction that he could never forget such an important promise — the only choice giving the strong "no way" denial this sentence needs.
Tested at JLPT N2 — 1 practice question below.
Practice 〜わけがない →〜わけがない attaches to the dictionary form of a verb to assert "there is no way that…," a confident logical denial. Here it denies any possibility of him forgetting そんな重要な約束. 〜ことはない denies only occasion or need, 〜ものではない issues a "one shouldn't" norm, and 〜わけではない softens the claim to "it isn't the case that" — none state the absolute impossibility intended.
彼がそんな重要な約束を忘れる__。
