〜ておく
ておく marks doing something in preparation — the hotel is booked ahead of the trip.

Practice 〜ておく →〜ておく means doing something in advance as preparation: 書いておく 'write down (now, for later)'. The sentence is 忘れないよう、予定を書いておくことにした — 'so I don't forget, I decided to write down my schedule in advance'. Order: object (予定を) → te-form verb (書いて) → auxiliary (おく) → decision (ことにした). The first slot must be 予定を, the object the whole verb chain acts on.
