〜てしまう
てしまった conveys regret — the precious photos were deleted, unfortunately and irreversibly.

Practice 〜てしまう →〜てしまう marks completion, often with regret or an unfortunate result: なくしてしまった = "ended up losing it." 買ったばかり ("just bought") strengthens the regret. ておいた is deliberate preparation — no one loses something on purpose, ていった depicts a gradual ongoing change, and てみせた is a defiant "I'll show you," none of which suits an accidental loss.
