Practice 〜やすい／にくい →〜やすい ('easy to ~') attaches to a verb's masu-stem: この靴は軽くて歩きやすいです — 'These shoes are light and easy to walk in.' 軽くて comes first as the te-form reason, then the 歩き+やすい compound, and です closes politely. です at ★ lands on a te-form mid-clause; 軽くて at ★ pushes the bare stem 歩き into slot 0 where it can't serve as the topic's predicate; やすい at ★ puts the suffix before its stem, leaving 歩き dangling.
